I can confirm the validity of the description above from my own experience.
This was from a TEA made out of the leaves of Datura Stramonium.
If you want hallucinations this is your drug. However "you" are not there
to experience them. This stuff takes over completely and irreversibly for
at least 24 hours. Stupidly, I went out while the effects had not yet
fully started. After having been thrown out of a bar, where I was
desperately searching for my briefcase that was suposed to be there someplace
(but which i hadn't even with me ) I found myself in a city that i did not
recognize. I did not remember where I came from , where to go , what do do,
who I was, let alone what I was doing there at this time of night, nor did
I have any clue how to get "home" as far as there was still a conception
of what home might be. There was complete retrograde amnesia: no acces  to
any knowledge at all. In the mean time I had encounters with people I knew
, that were able to do a disapearing act. Just by standing behind a light
pole they could make themselves invisible. (This must be the "witches sabbath"
hallucination , which seems recurrent in this type of delirium: the very
very real hallucination of speaking with people). Also I was constantly
hallucinating that I was smoking a cigarette, which whould suddenly disappear
leaving me searching te street , thinking that i dropped it. Witches are
actually shrubs growing in front yards (they live underground, the
branches are the hairs) Lots and lots of little bugs hand each other berries
along branches. I must have walked the same street 50 times back and forth
Wanting to get somewhere , forgetting were i was going to or were i was
in the first place. A small statue of a child alongside the road started
laughing and laughing harder and harder every time i passed, it was a
ridiculous sight to see this idiot come by for the 40th time, even for a
statue. And so on . For 24 hours.  It was a really interesting experience,
not a nice one, I could not see straight for a week (due to
anticholinergic parasympatholytic effect of atropine/scopolamine.)

Only for those who want to be able to say that they tried EVERYTHING.

The interesting thing about Datura is the power of the
experience. Ketamine is the only other drug that creates anything
remotely like this (but I haven't tried DMT). Unlike K, which is
very otherwordly and downright bizarre, Datura is very earthy and
familiar. Nonetheless, both can be used as tools to explore reality.

It's difficult to explain the difference in a few words. So, I'll give
an example of a typical Datura trip (stage 2).

I'm propped up in bed, reading an amazing book. The topic is really
fascinating and resonates with my interests. When I get to the bottom of
the right hand page, I try to slide my hand behind the page, to turn
it over and continue reading. But there are no more pages, and I flip
fresh air. In fact there is no book (ie, I'm propped up in bed, with my
empty hands, palms up, lying on my lap).

I'm surprised and irritated that there are no more pages. But, the topic
was so interesting that I decide it's worth reading again. When I start
reading at the top of the left hand page, the book is about a totally
different topic. Which is just as fascinating, so I quickly read to the
bottom of the right hand page, and try flip over the page to continue
the story. But, there are no more pages.

So I start reading from the beginning again. And, wow, another totally
different yet fascinating topic. I read eagerly and come across an
amazing sentence. I decide to read it again. My eye scans to the
beginning of the sentence and I start reading. But the topic has
changed again. And so it goes. Basically, any hesitaion on my part, any
break in the flow, would switch the topic. Always great reading though.
So I languished in bed for a few hours reading my endlessly fascinating,
Infinity Book.

Datura's not a worthwhile adventure; about 15 years ago I ate a number of
Jimsonweed seeds and only remember about two hours of extremely severe
Phantasms. This was two hours of   conciousness out of almost THREE DAYS
of heavy duty delieirum, visions/fantasy, lucid dreams.I would'nt call
them hallucinations in the LSD  on Psilocyben sense.They were completely
otherworldly. I was completely gone.

My friends and sister had to take care of me .I was a danger to myself and
others. I am surprised noone took me to the hospital ( I was a teenager
and my parents were out of town). I remember having a long conversation
with my alarm clock on the nightstand while trying to sleep and other
weirdness. After about
2 1/2 Days I was pretty aware of things around me again but remained
poisoned for about a week. My vision got back to normal after a few days.

I have never heard good things about using  the tropane group of alkaloids
for recreation (of which Datura and Atropa Bellodonna belong)although I
have a lot of books  by Hoffman , Schultes and others who document the
use of  Datura and related plants among Shaman of South America and Native
Southwestern Americans. ( not to mention the Wiccans of  old Europe).

I think if you have someone skilled in the use of medicinal plants, these
two plants are very helpful for pain relief, asthma and other illnesses,
ceremonies etc (In fact you can buy O-T-C- in most health food /vitamin
stores in the homeopathic remedies section a product callled Bellodonna 6X
it is used for fevers and neuralgia ). But if you do not know the potency
of the plant AND its origins AND how much to even begin with eating, my
advice is don't fuck with it. I can remember  that shit like it was
yesterday and it was not fun.

This posting is in repsonse to a posting I read (Datura Experience.)

I believe I once took Datura.  Only I knew it as malpitte, an
afrikaans word which literally translated equals "mad seeds".

I had seen the effects on one other person, so I thought I knew what
I was letting my self in for.  I don't know if I would recomend it to
any one after having what was initially a bad trip.  Unfortunately I
cannot say how much I took, but it was about a matchbox full.

It started affecting me about two hours later,  when the sky and the
sea turned from blue into green.  I then started hearing voices and
experiencing strange things.  I have only limited memory of all that
happend.  But everything was cool, I mean I was acting really strange
and all, until after I went to sleep - must have been 12-13 hours
after I took the stuff.

I woke up sometime in the middle of the night, and started having one
the worst experiences of my life.  Everything seemed so real.  It was
really bad.  There were people all arround me, trying to get me,
following me arround with guns and knives, someone had planted a bomb
right outside my tent, and I went looking for the cops so that they
could come and diffuse it.  I do not know how long I was running
arround for in the state, but it must have been a good couple of
hours.

I finally made it back to the tent and fell asleep.  After that
night, I really believed all that I had hallucinated to be real.
Reality was just a blur.  I could not focus, and I was seeing double,
but was wonderfully relaxed, just like being mildly stoned.  This
condition lasted a about two and half days, when I found that I could
see in focus again.

The feeling that I had for two days was wonderful, and I would like
to have that again, but not if I have to suffer through another bad
trip like that.  Maybe I took too much, because a friend of mine took
a bit less, and did not seem to have a bad trip.

If you want to try the stuff, I say beware, and make sure you
have acouple of days to  recover.

Just to confirm this description of the effects of Jimson weed. During
the early '70s a lot of people

in my social circle tried Jimson Weed in the form of "Surama" herbal
cigarettes. Except they ate them instead of of smoking them. They all
reported the effects described. One was unable to read fine print for
two days. Another hallucinated a regiment of soldiers marching through
his living room. A third stepped out of a country cottage and saw a
Giant about to destroy the local town. He was so worried that he ran and
warned the local police. Oh dear.

I have just come off my first datura(Jimson weed/Devil's weed) "trip". I use
the word "trip", due to the lack of a better option. I truly thought that I
have seen almost everything that drugs can do a couple of days ago.I was
dead-wrong. So many things happened; I'll tell you about 1.

I was inside my bathroom for more than half an hour talking to someone.I
did not know who he was but I saw him every now and again. I did not like
seeing him, because he was a very irritating fellow. Anything I did, he
would do; if I rubbed my cheek, he would do the same in a horibly exact
replica of my actions.This really pissed me off. I was however too fast
for him on certain occasions.
This morning I realised that I had been talking to the mirror.

This is very dangerous stuff.If you don't feel mentally and spiritually
competent and cleansed ,don't go near her, for she will drive you insane
permanently, or if you're a bit more lucky, she will kill you.

Handle Her with the utmost respect and care, and your life will take on a
new dimension.I must emphasize that I did a lot of research and was scared
shitless, if not I would probably been Her latest victim(and there has
been many!)

I had my first experience with her (Datura) in 10th grade or so.  I made
some very dangerous mistakes.  I had no idea at the time the proper use
of it so I figured "Why not Make a tea just like shrooms".  Anyway I
mashed the flowers and stems into a boiling pot of water and let simmer
for a while.  Then I started to think, "Well mabe I should put the apples
in as well."  So I took about 4 or five of the apples and put them in a
blender until they were mush.  Then I added them to the boiling brew.
When I figured it was ready, I poured about two cups in a big gulp cup
and gussled it down.  About twenty minutes later I felt my face get
really hot, everything turned and then I just went to sleep.  I woke up
late the next afternoon, which I thought was strange since I dosed at
about 1 the previous afternoon and figured I had fallen asleep around 3
pm at the latest.  Anyway a few years later I was speaking with a
pharmacalogist friend, and told him of the experience.  He told me that I
prepared it wrong, drank too much of it, and should have died or at least
been clinicaly brain dead after such a dosage.  I guess she liked me.

I Have Just Had a Friend pick a bag if the Trumpet Like Plants, Which Has Been
Identified as Datura, I Boiled all except for the Flowers of it, and drank it,
Everything Went Blurry, I could not see in front of my face, Let alone take
Customers at my Job, I
 ended up going home and Spent the next 4 or s Hour sitting around my house
Jumping at anything that was in my periphral vision that was Moving, also my
motor movements went to shit, and I Kind of Felt like I was Floating, There was
really intense Visuals
But I still had the feeling i had a grasp on Life.  In the middle and still as
of Now, I am suffering of Amnesia, Not remember what I even had to eat....

I Just would Like to know the Pros and Cons of this Drugs. and if my "Trip" was
Normal for the Datura Plant.

Having used datura a few times in my youth as well a related plant that, I
believe, here in California, is called Angel's Trumpet. I determined the
dosage from reading between the lines from the first Don Juan book.
Perhaps, I was just lucky. While it is accurate to say it highly
psychoactive, it is not hallucinogenic. It is delusional. I have never
believed that any hallucination I saw under the influence of mushrooms,
mescaline, acid was anything more than a mirror of my mind or the
perception of things usually filtered. Datura and this other plant
produce a state where you believe that what you perceive is real. Truly.
It contains belladonna alkaloids and is very dangerous. The "high" lasts
about 36-48 hours. It will allow you to do very stupid and dangerous
things. As an example, a group of us, consumed a tea made out of the
seeds and finely chopped roots. One guy, who dealt drugs and wasn't
particularily centered and/or able to connect with anyone else in the
group decided to take off. Another guy and I understood that it was
dangerous for anybody to become separated so we pursued him down to a
busy boulevard where after a couple of blocks we became freaked and
ceased tried trying to talk him into returning with us. We went back
to the house. He went on his way, went to his house, got a suitcase full
of drugs, walked to a strange neighborhood and into some old people's
house. Whereupon, he began to behave as if he was in his own house.
What occurred next I'm sure is obvious.
If ya really want to get whacked out and have, perhaps, a transcendent
experience, this is not it. If reports here and elsewhere are correct,
and you want something like that, find a chemist, synthesize some DMT,
find a safe place and your deity be with you. At least you won't die.

strongest part of the plant....here's an account that I downloaded in case
you thought that Datura was good to mess around with:

collected about 3-4 ounces of seeds one weekend.  He was driving
back with friend and took 2 teaspoonfuls of seeds.  After about half
an hour he still wasn't feeling affects so reached in the bag and
grabbed a handful of seeds and started munching... friend was (hmm)
flabbergasted.. this guy musn't have had any clue what it would do
to him.

   Well, ten minutes later he's feeling the affects a bit..
just a bit of a buzz, and drops friend (stoned out of gourd) at his
house and goes to park the car.  Friend forgets about him for about
an hour (go figure) and this is what happened:

He drove off and doesn't know where he was heading, but ended up
running his mom's brand new audi into a tree at some appartment
complex.  He was still functional enough to realize that he knew
someone who lived in the area and went to her house...  When she
opened the door he was babbling about nothing at all and just
running off at the mouth.  Girl was a friend and loaded him into her
car and took him to his house and dropped him off in the street.
   He walked inside his house (maybe 1.5 1.75 hours after
eating) and goes into his room, gets his boombox and goes to the
bathroom to take a shower.  Strips down naked, gets in shower, no
water.. gets out takes radio downstairs (still stark naked) and
starts cleaning.. moving furniture and dusting etc... While his mom
is sitting in the room trying to watch TV.
   She asks him what the hell he thinks he's doing...
   He replies, "Goddammit Mom!  Leave me alone, can't you see
i'm trying to take a shower!! DAMN!"  then starts babbling again...


Well, his mom called for paramedics.. he was lucky.. pumped him full
of some other drug, (thorizine maybe) fuzzy here..  and pumped his
stomach.  Doctors said he was very lucky.. maybe within an hour of
death.  Just thought i'd post this story.... kinda funny, but
serious undertones...  that shit messes with you.  Set and setting
aside, be prepared for a "wild" time..

I've read of much worse....BE CAREFUL.  IF you MUST experiment with Jimson
Weed, do your research very carefully first.  I strongly suggest that you
NOT ingest any.

BTW, not only is it legal, but grows as a weed in most of the US.
